Dear players,

we believe that the developers made alot of mistakes and changes that were not wanted when updating the official servers to 3.5.

We do not want to make those same mistakes, therefor we try to correct the errors of this game version and make it as comfortable as possible for the future of the game and our players.

In this topic we will add all the changes that have already been made 100%.

Aswell as the changes you will be seeing on the official release of our update from ArcheRage 3.0.3 to 3.5.

Trading System

First of all, we need to talk about the trading system.

We know that you like trading and that the new trading system can be very frustrating for many players.

I urge to say, we will not change or remove the new 3.5 trading system in any way, we think this is a new very interesting and exciting part of the game mechanics and we are sure there are alot of players who will try it and come to like it.
Nonetheless we have decided to introduce 2 trading systems in 3.5:
  • Standard 3.0.3 trading system
  • Trading outlets from 3.5
  • The delivery time will stay the same - 22hours after you have turned in your cargo you will receive your goods, this applies for both systems.

This means, all traders deleted in 3.5 will be returned to their original places and will happily keep accepting your trading goods.
Also you can use the standard trading posts. (There will soon be a link to a guide on this post.)

World Bosses

In the update of 3.5 the spawn time and also the despawn time of important worldbosses was changed.
We know that majority of the players did not like these changes so we decided to not implement them.

We left the boss spawns and despawns exactly the same as in version 3.0.3 of the game.

Guards!

We know that many times you will see red players luring the guards to attack Ships or tractors that they cannot damage, to then harm or kill you while you are just minding your business, this can cause great frustration.

We decided to correct this annoying issue as we feel that it is a clear game mechanic error.

From now on, all guards will deal Siege damage, which also means they will easily destroy enemy ships etc.

Which means, the damage dealt by the guards to players will roughly stay the same, except that you have alot less resistance against their damage, which will result to an estimated 30% damage increase towards players.

Say no to all the upgrading confusion of freighters!
  • Now every single farm cart or freighter will be in order and also tell you detailed information on how many passenger seats and how many packs it can carry.
  • Now all freighters are called... freighters! No longer multiple confusing names for the same freighter.
  • Also, the special christmas etc freighters will all be added to a seperate section making it easier to overview.
  • All tickets for freighters and farm carts and other that are for the same sake are now combined into one!

Honor Shop update!


When upgrading the game to 3.5, the developers removed some of the gems and lunastones from the honor store, saying they would replace those by adding something newer - and better.

Well, this turned out to be an empty promise (in other words, the usual :D).

We have decided to correct this false change and return the gems and lunastones to their right places... the honor shop!

Items that will be added back to the honor shop:

Guild Changes:

We did not only receive complaints about empty guilds in the top rankings once or twice, we received them alot.
These alt or empty guilds prevent numours of other active guilds to be able to receive the benefits of being in the top ranking and participating in sieges.

First of all, the guild ranking takes the guild level into account and only later the overall number of members inside the guild.
Therefore, in order to remove alt or empty guilds from the top, it is necessary to reduce its level.

A simple system was developed and created as solution.


Now every guild that did not gain a certain amount of experience in the course of 1 week will be excluded from the top guild rankings.

The verification will take place every monday.

Guild experience can be earned by completing guild quests or participating in war.

On average a member of an guild completes 4 daily quests and will have the guild earn 100 experience.

How many points does the guild need to not be thrown off the top rankings?

The guild level multiplied by 500.​

Example:
A guild of Level 6 must score a total of 3000 experience points in 1 week to not be thrown off the top rankings.

In the future we plan to add several more guild bonuses, such as expanding the guild shop, improving the guild buffs, a guild warehouse and more.

Mirage Isle


Starting from the very first version of the game ArcheAge, the developers seemingly became more and more greedy.
Cutting back on all the things players could obtain with ingame currency... removing pets, decorations and alot of other items obtainable with Gilda Stars.

We have decided to correct this by adding more obtainable items to the Mirage Isle Benches.

We will also open the main building in mirage isle, which many of you have tried to get in to for a long time.
We are sure you will enjoy its beauty and all the items you can obtain there.
What are new items you can now obtain with Gilda Stars in Mirage Isle?
  • Design of the new Rampage Car
  • Speedboat Design
  • Temporary costumes with stats ( a nice help for newer players)
  • Mounts (a wide variety of new mounts)
  • Decorations, etc.

Territority Statues

We have received many complains about the Nation Statue that each faction has.
The fact that building it is super expensive and also that the buff it provides compared to the cost it takes to make it is rather.... bad, we have been thinking long and hard how we could fix this.

We also checked the Haranya and Nuian Hero Statues and came to the conclusion that the developers of the game made a serious mistake when creating these statues on the main continents.

To start off, lets see which kind of statues we have and... what for they are needed.
The Nation statue of the main continents are build in Austera for Haranya and in Marianople for Nuians, and the pirates can have one in Stormraw Sound.

To build this statue, the players of the continents have to use a total of 100 Faction Statue Crafting packs. After finishing to build the statue, each citizen of the continent can gain a buff effect that will last for
3 days.



The blessing buff each citizen will receive when praying to the statue is the following:

Melee Attack +5
Ranged Attack +5
Magic Attack +5
Healing Power +5
Received Melee Damage -4%
Received Ranged Damage -4%
Received Magic Damage -4%
Also, you gain +2000 in each proficiency and -5% production time.

If there is a hero of the faction nearby, using the hero cloak, this effect will get stronger and turn to:
Melee Attack +10
Ranged Attack +10
Magic Attack +10
Healing Power +10
Received Melee Damage -6%
Received Ranged Damage -6%
Received Magic Damage -6%
Also, you gain +2000 in each proficiency and -5% production time.



With player nations... this whole situation is a little bit different.
The construction of the nation statue requires 100 Rising Star Stone Packs, which are not only super expensive to make, but also very difficult to bring to the territority itself.

Therefor, we have changed the cost of crafting the Territority Statue in the Auroria continents.

Now the construction will take 200 Faction Statue Crafting Packs that can be crafted in the territority.

Since after 21 days the statue will ''downlevel'' you will have to recharge it, building it up again and this will cost 40 Rising Star Stone packs instead of 20 Rising Star Stone packs from before.

Also, we have added additional effects to the Territority Statues in Auroria:

Dear players,

in the update of 3.5 the developers of the game have removed the ability of the server turning off and on all the lights in the game automatically.

This is a very annoying change for all players who love their housing to be glowing brightly in the night, but this was a logical step to take.
There are countless lights placed in the game, we estimate there to be around 10.000-15.000 lights.
Just try to imagine the load on the server while simultaneously turning every single of those lights on and off at the very same time. In addition with 3.5 there are two new zones added with new lights... which further increased the load on the server.

It is for these reasons that the automatic turn on/off function in the game is impossible to bring back... but fear not, we have thought about a way!

We changed all the lights in the game, and removed their ''turn off after X amount of time'' feature.
Which means, once you turn on your light manually, it will be glowing brightly forever... or until you turn it off manually or the server restarts.

May this change bring back the nice and cozy nights on our precious ArcheRage Server!

If you see some lights missing this feature, please do report this to us and we will fix them asap!

FoV Mod in the game client!


We have received many requests of players for permission of using the FoV mod and therefor many questions on how to install it and how to make it work.

We understand that the FoV mod is in no way a malicious program, but exists only for convenience of our players.
Therefore we have never been against changing the maximum zoom out range of the ingame view.

This time, we have decided to go ahead and do everyone a favor to make your life easier.
No more trouble some installing and downloading of another mod, no more trying to make it work for hours... and it simply doesnt.

We have added the function to further increase the zoom out range of the camera.
We have also added the ''fisheye'' function to the client which will increase the zoomout range even more.​

More music, more joy!

We have always wondered why the Speedboat did not have the option to listen to music.

Afterall how nice would it be to sit on your speedboat with your friends, sailing into the vast ocean and listen to some nice music? We have corrected this issue!

Now, the seaskimmer speedboat and the seawhip speedboat both have the function of turning on music!

Also, the design of the speedboats was added to the main building in mirage isle and no longer can be bought from the store directly.​

We have corrected and fixed many issues and mistakes that were in the game, that are not visible or noticeable by our players... but could potentially destroy our game economy and hurt the balance of our server. Alot of thoughts and work was put into the whole process.

Now lets take a deep breath... and rest a little... and talk about our future plans for our server.


We will reveal some of our plans:

  1. We are planning on changing our current ''The Era of Merchants'' event. We will redo the rewards, the task itself and maybe will make the whole event work on a quest basis, which will also track your progress and how many packs you have turned in... and how many you need left.
  2. Guild Changes. We plan to add a guild warehouse, add some quests for more guild buffs... the expansion of the guild warehouse and many other changes.
  3. Castle Siege Changes. Alot players have given us alot of input on how we could possibly improve the siege system, our current idea is very fresh and still needs to be discussed.
  4. New quest line! Yes, we are working on yet another new quest line.... :)
  5. New festivals and new events.

These are the main points and things we want to focus on working on from now, they will take alot of time and alot of thinking.
Of course, while we focus on this, we will also be doing other smaller changes, fixes and work on improving our server.

And your task? Report bugs and problems to us and continue telling us your wishes and suggestions for our server!
